The University Addresses Advocates of Extremist Ideology by Establishing an "Intellectual Awareness Unit".

Information and Communication Center:

His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Daoud directed the Rector of the University to establish a unit to raise intellectual awareness within the framework of the University's efforts to confront the propaganda wave targeting Saudi youth by violent and terrorist groups, with the aim of encouraging dialogue, emphasizing the values of tolerance, moderation, moderation and preserving national cohesion among all segments of society, as well as to contribute to the protection of students from the ideas of exaggeration and terrorism, and to block the pretexts leading to this path.

Through this unit, the university seeks to achieve the aspirations of the leadership, represented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Highness the Crown Prince, and His Highness the Deputy Crown Prince, by building a moderate society that enshrines tolerance, rejects violence and spreads the tolerant values of Islam, and this is what Vision 2030 affirmed when it stated that the approach of moderation, tolerance, the values of mastery, discipline, justice and transparency are among the main pillars for achieving development in various fields.

Al-Daoud stressed that the program comes within the Ministry's awareness programs approved by the Supreme Maqam in Royal Decree No. 35391 dated 1/9/1435 AH within the emergency media plan (Immunity), pointing out that this unit will seek to design intellectual programs directed at university students, protecting them, God willing, from the intellectual polarization practiced by these deviant groups towards Saudi youth.

For his part, the supervisor of the awareness unit at the university, Dr. Khalid Aba Al-Khail, added that the new unit will seek in its future plans to hold a range of scientific events such as organizing conferences, holding workshops and lectures for students, and designing intellectual models that help raise the level of intellectual and personal awareness, and give the student the ability to sort and evaluate ideas and trends, and the unit seeks to develop the national dimension, and to enshrine the principle of cohesion between the components of the national fabric, by opening wide horizons for serious dialogue between the segments of students.

Abba Al-Khail pointed out that the unit plans to build partnerships with the civil and military government sectors, and the private sector, and seeks to play the role of a link between all units of the university and its colleges, in order to achieve its desired goals, and the supervisor of the unit appreciated the interest of His Excellency the Rector of the University in this unit and its support and make it one of his most important priorities because it contributes to strengthening the intellectual immunity of students.
